Marcus Smith brings an extensive playing and coaching background to Texans Baseball. A Houston native, he played at Bellaire High School, where he was part of a state and national championship team in 1999. He went on to play in the Gulf Coast League with the Atlanta Braves organization in 2000 and continued his collegiate career at Alvin Community College from 2001–2002.
Marcus has been coaching athletes ages 9U–15U since 2009 and currently serves as the 11U coach. The most rewarding part of coaching for him is helping young players develop and prepare for success at the next level and beyond the game. He looks forward to seeing his players embrace challenges and work toward achieving their goals. When he’s not coaching, Marcus enjoys spending time with his family.
